Tarplant (Holocarpha macradenia) is a plant species endemic to Northern California and particularly to Santa Cruz County. It is designated as a Threatened species under the United States Endangered Species Act (ESA).<\/SPAN><\/P> Each polygon in this dataset represents an area surveyed for Tarplants. Tarplant density was calculated for each polygon area by dividing the number of counted Tarplants by the acreage of the polygon. Tarplant counts, mapped extents, and geographic data were compiled and delivered to City of Watsonville by Salix Consulting, Inc.<\/SPAN><\/P>
